What happens when churches use outreach ministries to effect change in the communities they serve? You can expect that it makes a difference in many ways for those families they assist. D3CU is a full fledged community church that is dedicated to assisting families with their basic everyday needs. Each and every family in need that contacts the D3CU is helped. Pastor Benner and his staff review each situation individually and make assessment of what is required to help all who contact the
church. While the church is unable to
give financial assistance due to limited
church funds, the staff help in other ways by
giving referral information to other
organizations for financial
assistance. In our pursuit of the great commission, D3CU is compelled to minister to the whole person. We seek to attend to everyone at his or her point of need, with the goal of helping the unsaved see the hand of Jesus in their life.
If you have a need, please call the church office at (740) 369-4943.
"Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly." - John 10:10
Our hearts also rejoice with God's people as we are led to them in their times of crisis and hardship. There is no greater joy than to see the brethren praise our God as their prayers are answered.
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in."
- Matthew 25:35
The Church has a food pantry that is in operation on Tuesdays and Fridays beginning at 2:00 p.m. The food pantry is located directly behind the church for easy access. The food pantry is led by Jo Dever. She and her army of volunteers have a variety of resources to help people with their needs. If a family needs immediate assistance, they can call the office and leave a message. All messages are returned promptly. This immediate attention to a problem allows the church to begin gathering the resources needed to meet the family's needs.
You will always reap what you sow.
- Galatians 6:7
Each summer, D3CU shows it's dedication to the families of Delaware, Ohio by sponsoring cook-outs at the church where everyone is welcome. Gathering together as a community in fellowship, sharing the great food, socializing in a casual environment puts the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the hands of those families who attended the events.
I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.
- Matthew 16:18
Many people, Christians and non-Christians, still look to churches for help with many problems of life. They feel overwhelmed with just trying to get by day to day especially when dealing with stressful jobs and hectic schedules that leave them feeling drained. At times their worries and concerns seem never ending, with no hope in sight. D3CU has developed small groups as an outlet for women, men, and children to gather together in fellowship to strengthen their faith through fellowship giving witness to God's ways of dealing with these problems. A growing congregation, Pastor Benner and the church board are prepared to add additional groups so that everyone has a ministry that fits their needs.
Outreach Ministry is one of the fundamental basics of Christianity. We, as Christians, are to assist those in need and to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through testimony and evangelism. The D3CU has dedicated many resources to their Outreach Ministry. Church members dedicate their time and God given gifts to reach as many people as possible to witness and put the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives. D3CU wants to insure that all those who want to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour are given the resources they need to live their faith. No one is turned away.
